Rev. Dorothy Scott Boulware is a lover of words and expresses that love in many ways. Combined with varied skills, she uses that love in her role as an editor of the 130-year-old AFRO American News Company: The Black Media Authority. As a member of the executive team she facilitates the publication of news daily on the AFRO website (Afro.com), social media platforms, multiple newsletters per week, as well as the legacy weekly print edition.
For many years words were a substantial expression of her faith as she was an urban pastor in Baltimore City, with a passion for teaching and pastoral care.
Her education includes an undergraduate degree from Coppin State University in English with a minor in journalism, and a professional degree in ministry, the M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
Laughter. Good stories. Great food. Most of all, family. Her word and faith are completed by 53 years of marriage, four children, five grandchildren and two great grandsons. Who could ask for more?

That phrase is striking because right now we are the sons and daughters of God, those who have already begun the journey and are continually being transformed by the renewing of our minds. Right now. So whatever the vision for our lives, there’s no “worthiness” to wait for…no change that needs to happen before we can spread our wings and live in the grace we’ve already been afforded.
